What Will You Do As A Technical DFM Engineer
As a Technical DFM Engineer, you take ownership of the Design for Manufacturing phase for new product introductions. You make sure innovative product concepts can move smoothly from R&D into production, with the right focus on manufacturability, assembly, quality and durability.
- Leading the DFM planning process and defining production, quality and product requirements
- Designing products with a strong focus on ease of assembly, manufacturability and scalability
- Supporting the transfer of new product concepts from R&D to production
- Working closely with design engineering, embedded engineering, quality control, operations and external manufacturing partners
- Supporting planning, mold quality and First Article Testing / First Off Tool testing
- Creating and maintaining FMEA documentation
- Reviewing design choices for mechanical robustness, scalability and manufacturability
- Defining test criteria and writing clear test protocols
- Implementing quality procedures and supporting their execution
- Identifying risks and improvement opportunities to improve product durability and production quality
Do You Recognize Yourself In This
- You have a university-level education in Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- You have at least 3 years of relevant experience in product development or manufacturing engineering
- You have strong experience with SolidWorks
- You have affinity with 3D printing and modern manufacturing techniques
- You have experience with force analysis and mechanical simulations
- Experience with wearable electronics is a strong plus
- You enjoy validating mechanical performance through real-life testing and measurement
- You are hands-on, structured and able to connect engineering decisions with production reality
